The "Nikollë Zogorjani" High School was founded in 1972 as an agricultural high school. The first headmaster was Pjetër Gjoka, who was assisted by Kolë Vasili that served as his deputy. The school’s name is a tribute to Nikollë Zogorjani who in 1958 organized the local resistance against the communist regime which shortly after, in 1959, after discovering his activity, sentenced him to twenty-five years of imprisonment. five years of loss of the right to vote and to be elected and with property confiscation. From its establishment in 1972 until today, the school has been run by 13 headmasters, including the current one. Currently, the school covers all three pre-university cycles, and every year welcomes students from the 1st grade to the 12th grade. There are also two dependent schools under its jurisdiction: Luarze and Mali Kolaj. The school carefully maintains cooperative relationships with the community, especially with parents, governing structures and non-profit organizations. In recent years, a number of organizations have offered their cooperation, which has been welcomed by the headmasters, teachers and students of the school. Since last year, the school is part of the national program of schools as a community center.
